Robyn N. Lanier attended the Cleveland Music School Settlement in addition to her college preparatory studies. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory [1997] and her Master of Music Performance in Voice from the University of Akron School of Music [2004].
Ms. Lanier performed as a principal soloist in the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria [2014]; Case Western Reserve’s Requiem Mass [2010]; the Case Western Reserve Wind Ensemble performance at Severance Hall [2010]; and at the College of University of Akron’s EJ Thomas Hall [2010]. Her most fond accomplishment was singing for the President of the United States at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center [2010].
Ms. Lanier was the Music Director of Twinsburg Youth Theater [1996-1999], the Artistic and Music Director of East Cleveland Theater [2002-2004], and Voice Coach/Accompanist/Music Director of US Performing Arts Camps [2005-2008] prior to adventuring, performing and teaching in Hunan, China [2004-2006].
As Music Director for the Holland-America/Carnival Corporation Cruise Lines [2008-2014] she prepared and performed with a variety of singers and instrumentalists throughout the world. And in Los Angeles [2007-2009] she was a vocal/instrument coach for performers prior to their employment in Las Vegas shows and/or embarkation on cruise ships.
She completed 3 years as the Choral Master for Kenai Central High School, following the footsteps of Renée C. Henderson, after two years [2018-2020] as the K-12 Music teacher at Sand Point School in the Aleutian East Borough School District.
She is currently in her second year as the Director of Orchestras at Bettye Davis East High School.
